Abraham Faces Trial On Drug Possession Charges

PONTIAC, Mich. (AP) - A man has been ordered to stand trial on drug charges less than two years after he was released from prison for a murder committed when he was 11.  Nathaniel Abraham's arraignment on drug possession with intent to deliver charges is set for August 4th in Oakland County Circuit Court in Pontiac.  The 22-year-old was arrested May 30th at a gas station.

Two police officers testified today at Abraham's preliminary examination in Pontiac district court.  Defense attorney Byron Pitts says Abraham is on strong legal ground for trial.

Abraham was convicted of second-degree murder in the 1997 slaying of 18-year-old Ronnie Greene of Pontiac.  He was released in January 2007 after serving a juvenile sentence.
He then spent time in a Bay City halfway house.
