A fire early Wednesday morning caused $180,000 in damage to a west side Bay City business. A passing motorist discovered the fire at The Lending Factory, 201 North Henry, about 1:45 a.m.  Bay City Fire Department Assistant Chief Mike Roznowski says the business is located in a house, converted into a commercial structure.

The fire apparently started on the north side of the building near a stairway. Thirty-one Bay City firefighters, including off duty personnel, were on the scene for about four-and-a-half hours. No one was injured.
