GRAND BLANC TOWNSHIP, Mich. (AP) - Some residents in a Genesee County community were allowed to return home following a chemical explosion and fire at a processing facility. Grand Blanc Township Fire Chief James Harmes says crews found multiple sulfuric acid tanks burning inside the plant about 4 a.m. Friday.
Several employees inside the building were not injured. Residents and people working within a half-mile of the plant were temporarily evacuated. Harmes says the cause of the fire was not immediately known.
