Flint Teacher Accused Of Sex With Boy

FLINT, Mich. (AP) - A 42-year-old former Flint elementary school teacher is accused of having sex with a 12-year-old boy she was tutoring at her home.  Genesee County Prosecutor David Leyton said Tuesday he has charged 42-year-old Allanah Benton-Wells with two counts of first-degree criminal sexual conduct. She could face life in prison if convicted.  She denied the allegations through defense attorney Michael Haley.

Benton-Wells is accused of having sex with a sixth grader in her class on two occasions last year when she was supposedly helping him with homework.

Benton-Wells is divorced and the mother of 19-month-old twins. She was put on paid leave from Flint Williams Elementary School in November and was fired this month.
