It's been in planning for years, but now the Mid-Michigan Children's Museum is offiicially open after a Friday a ribbon cutting. The museum's board Vice Chairperson Jaye Blakely says while it's designed for kids, consultants held brain storming sessions with people of all ages to plan the exhibits. Blakely said people from Saginaw, Bay City, Midland, Mount Pleasant and places in between, have contributed in some way.
Saginaw businessman Dick Garber is one of the biggest contributors, donating the family's former auto dealership on West Genesee Street. Blakely said people have given money, materials or sweat equity in building the museum.
