Prom Plans Include Tight Security

Preparations are underway for the Saginaw Arthur Hill High School prom May 23rd, but  Saginaw school board President Ron Spess says maintaining security at the Germania Town and Country Club will be the over-riding goal.

Spess says Saginaw Police along with school security officers will patrol the surrounding neighborhood. Only residents and prom participants will be allowed access, with barricades going up in key intersections beginning at 6 p.m. on prom night. Prom participants will check in at Michigan and Wheeler.

Some residents in the area don't like the idea of having to produce identification to get to and from their homes that night between 6 p.m. and midnight.
