Saginaw Township Acquires Property

|
Saginaw Township is acquiring more property near the former landfill at Center and West Michigan to ensure compliance with any new environmental regulations which might come along in the next 10 to 15 years. Township Assistant Manager Rob Grose says the sales approved by Township trustees are contingent upon an environmental study to be completed within the next month.
Grose says the Township has spent about one-million dollars over the last nine years collecting leachate from property it already controls next to the landfill. He explained the two new parcels coming to the Township will cost roughly 135,000 dollars combined, and add up to just over five acres. |
